In this project, we will work with community groups in Mississippi and Alabama to train community members on basic research skills. Those community members will then collect data in their local communities related to the experiences and needs of LGBTQ people in the South. There is a particular emphasis in this study on seeking LGBTQ people of color, due to the drastic under representation of people of color in most LGBTQ research.
This project is scheduled to occur over the next 15 months. We have plans to attempt to extend the project and grow the number of community researchers and community groups involved over time.
