  • Equity issues relating directly to Latinx individuals.

Social Class Differences
  • Social class identity of individuals from low-income socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • The impact of out-of-class experiences on college student learning and development.

Gender and Sexual Identities
  • The formation and maintenance of identities in and through the education system. Of particular emphasis are those educational systems and situations that police identity performances closely and carefully, resulting in conflicts during identity development.
  • Implicit biases in response to gender and sexual identity expressions, particularly LGBTQ identified individuals.
  • The ways in which masculinity and femininity are conflated with sexual identity, and the consequences of that conflation for people in such systems.

Intersectionality
  • The impact of measurement paradigms on intersecting identities of English language learners, individuals with disabilities, people of color, and low-income peoplein widening pre-existing disparities.
  • Health risk behaviors and cultural correlates of mental health as the intersect with ethnic, immigrant, refugee, and LGBTQ identities.
  • Social responsibility and social/political activism.
  • Religious pluralism and spirituality.
